This is Gossie. Gossie is a gosling. A small, yellow gosling who likes to wear bright red boots. Every day.
Today "Gossie" is 21 months...seemingly going on 3. She talks non-stop, runs around like a crazy, and climbs/or tries to climb everything. She is asserting her independence more and more and when she says no, you would think she was 13 (I have already seen her roll her eyes...yikes!).
She loves stickers, coloring, babies (real and dolls) and M&Ms. She dislikes being told no* and eating at planned meal times.
She is really into singing songs and her favorites are ABC, Pop goes the weasel, Row row row your boat, Twinkle twinkle, Pat-a-cake and Jesus loves me.
She can do her ABCs from A to Z (LMNOP is still a bit sloppy) and count to 13.
She is happiest outside and with other children/babies.
This past month she sat and watched 40 straight minutes of Monsters, Inc (her favorite movie to ask for). Since her previous record was 8 minutes, it was like a mini miracle.
She loves princesses...her favorite is Princess Tiana (or Tinana as G calls her). Whenever she sees a photo of Princess Tiana she squeals "Tinana...more Tinana!"
She is obsessed with going "peepee in the potty." She goes 1-2 times a day. I have started giving her the option to go in the potty when I change her diaper at home and she almost always takes me up on the offer and goes peepee. Even though I am letting her pee on ocassion, we are not potty training.
She can take her pants off and put them back on (except over the diaper bubble butt). She is also quite skilled at removing her own diaper. Since she loves being "naked yeah yeah yeah!" getting her to keep her clothes on is quite a challenge.
She has a crazy memory...especially for people's names! If we go somewhere we have been before with someone else, she will look up at me and say their name. She is always asking for her friends (Ia) Iain and Iba (Isabelle) and for all of her family members
Michael had to work late several nights this week so I took G out to eat one night. We went to the 99 for a kid friendly atmosphere and she was SO good. She sat in the booth, sans highchair and we colored and looked through the kids activity book until our food came and hen she ate 1/2 of her grilled cheese! One of the characters in the book was names Emily and she quickly became G's favorite. She kept on saying "more Emimy!"
If you ask her Daddy's name, Mommy's name, Nonna's name or Papa's name, she will answer correctly. We are working on Grammi and Dzia Dzia but she hasn't retained those yet.
She is still sleeping like a champ in her big girl bed. She goes to bed at 7 and is up between 6 and 630. She regular naps for 2 hours in the afternoon (half of the time she will go stand by the stairs and say "Ella nap" before I tell her it is nap time.
Eating is still the challenge. She continues to be quite picky but lately she has tried a few new things which is encouraging.
She is very bright and energetic which cane be both a joy and a pain in the butt. Sometimes it feels like we skipped over so much of her baby years and right into "terrible twos." Have I mentioned she has already been asking "why?" over the last few months. She is quite stubborn/hardheaded...when she gets her mind fixated on something she WILL NOT let it go!
I can't believe my "acts like a 2 year old" will be 2 in a few months!

Cutest little Gossie ever!! LOVE the costume. Happy 21 months!
