We've always been big tree people here in the Krisko household. It is one of the perks of our super high ceilings.
It started in 2008, our first year in our place. We started on the small side of large, setting in with 9 footer.
In 2009, with Baby Krisko on the way, we decided to "go big or go home"...12 feet later, this what we came home with.
...3 short days after bringing home our magnificent tree, we were awoken in the middle of the night to this...
Yes, that's right. Our tree broke the heavy duty stand it had rested in over the weekend and crashed to the ground, fully decorated. Ugh! Fortunately, we were able to salvage the tree and most of our light and ornaments and our tree (barely) made it though the season.
This year with an almost walking, billy goat of a 10 month old capable of getting into even the most precarious of places in our living area, we decided not to take any chances of a repeat of 2009. In 2010, we decided to pay homage to MJ and his ode to the small tree and this is what we picked out. At about 5 feet and change and sturdy as a rock - 2010 is the year of the teeny tree. Of coarse, as with Krisko trees of previous years, we went with a chubby tree. As I told Michael at the tree farm, "I like my Christmas tree fat and my man skinny!"
Without further adieu, here is our little tree:
More to come on our tree farm adventure and or decorating later this week.
