20 Months

Today, Gabriella is 20 months.  It is hard to believe that we are creeping so close to her second birthday.  Here are some highlights of G at 20 months.

G loves M&Ms, stickers, babies (both dolls and real), going to the park, and being naked.  Other favorite activities include coloring, puzzles and building block towers.  G dislikes having her diaper changed, trying new foods, booboos, and having things taken away from her.

As G's personality develops, we see more and more of her outgoing side coming out.  She is a social butterfly, especially if Michael or I are around.  She is spunky with Michael's sense of humor.  She loves making people laugh!  And, like the energizer bunny, she can keep going and going.

She continues to be a talker.  She learns new words each day and is constantly stringing them together in ways that make Michael and I look at each other in awe.  However, I have realized over the last month that much of what she says is difficult for others to understand (although I normally know exactly what she is saying).

She loves saying her alphabet (she is up to QRS then skips to the end) and counting (to ten with help when she hits seven).  She is good at identifying colors (i.e. can you bring me the blue cup) although, if you ask her what color something is the answer is always "purple" followed by "green."

She loves singing and dancing and is very particular about what song she wants to hear at given times.

Gabriella loves shoes and boots and would spend an hour a day trying them on and marching and dancing around the house.

G has absolutely no fear. She is always trying to keep up with the big kids at the playground and can maneuver around the equipment on her own like a pro.

She is still a skinny little thing and it is making it hard to dress her.  We are pairing a lot of 12 month leggings with dresses since larger size pants keep falling off of her or and smaller sized jeans look like she is getting ready for a flood (thank goodness for too short skinny jeans and boots).

Every day is an adventure with Gabriella and she continues to keep Michael and I on our toes.

G making some crazy faces during lunch yesterday.  If I say, "Gabriella, you're crazy!"  she responds by saying "I'm crazy!" (I craigey!")

And because she wanted "sticker dee belly," here is G at 20 months

  1. What a cutie!! Those pictures are too funny! Fortunately for us the cloth diaper booty is what's saving us from the same problem with pants either too short or too big in the waste. Girls can get away with leggings and boots, but boys, not so much! :)

  2. The similarities between G & L are uncanny. She is an absolute doll and such a smart little tot! And, even though L is a few lbs more than G, we're having the same issues in the clothing dept. She's in 12-18mo leggings & skirts, and then 18-24 mo tops/dresses. You'd think clothing stores would get that as they start to grow upward, they slim down!

  3. What a riot! She's quite the little entertainer. :)
