We are fortunate that G has always made bedtime pretty easy for us. For as long as I can remember, she has gone to bed at seven. She has always been good at falling asleep on her own without any intervention from us. After we read a few books in her room, I tell her it is bedtime and she runs over to turn on her nightlight, hop into bed, grab her lovey, say prayers, give and get kisses and hugs and get tucked into bed with her preferred number of blankets (2). Recently, however, a funny new part of the routine has developed. Over the past week or so, she has, more often than not, veered to her toy bin on the way to the nightlight to pick up a few stuffed friends to join her. Once she is pleased with her selections (which are varied in number as well as in who makes the cut) she continues on to the nightlight and picks things right back where she left off. Tonight this crazy little lady took seven friends to bed with her (3 puppy stuffed animals, a bear, minnie mouse, an elephant finger puppet and a cat finger puppet). Two trips were required. :)
