Two years ago Michael and I got a 10 foot tree, knowing that we would be safe from the climbing and pulling that comes with having a little one.  Nevertheless, that tree toppled.  Last year we went much smaller, concerned that our new walker would attempt to pull down it down.  She was completely uninterested in the tree (maybe because we barricaded it behind the dining room table...).  This year, with an active toddler who [sometimes] has selective listening, we went small again.  But G was able to actively participate in tree trimming, which she loved.
