Christmas Day

G has been getting up too early (4:30am) for the last few weeks.  Most days she will fall asleep on the sofa with Michael but some mornings she is UP at 4:30.  Michael and I fully expected Christmas morning to start pretty early...but we were NOT prepared for Gabriella to awaken at 1:40a on Christmas morning asking if Santa brought presents.  Needless to say, 1:40am was not when we wanted to head into the living room and open presents.  So I told her that Santa had not come to our house yet and that she needed to go back to sleep so he could come bring her presents.  After an hour of tossing and turning (in excitement and anticipation, no doubt) she went back to sleep and slept in...until 5:30a.  And, thus, at that point we al headed upstairs to bring our Christmas morning festivities.  First stop - to check and see if Santa had enjoyed the milk and cookies we left for him.  Check!

Then, we started with her stocking which was filled with m&ms minis, and dollar store stickers, playdough and knickknacks.

She was pretty thrilled with the gifts, the markers in particular.  I think we could have stopped there, but we had picked up a few additional small things for her.

One gift was the sequel to the Tickle Monster book we have.  Now she has legs to go with her tickle monster mitts.

But it was the Minnie Mouse swimsuit and cover up we got for her big trip to disney was the big hit of the morning.

Grammi and Dzia Dzia came over for breakfast and G showed off her computer skills, playing them some piano and singing along to the ABCs with Elmo.  Playing with the Ipad is a rare treat so G took full advantage.

And perhaps by some Christmas miracle (or maybe just because of the excitement of the morning coupled with a lack of sleep the night before), we put G down for a nap early at 11:30a and were forced to wake her three hours later at 2:30p because we were already late for Christmas dinner.  I think she very well may have slept another hour or more if we had not forced her awake.
